New Marine Specimens Added to Champlain Sea

After a successful completion of their "behind the scenes" quarantine (a routine procedure with all new arrivals), new marine specimens were transferred to the "Champlain Sea" exhibit here at ECHO. Hermit crabs, anemones, sea stars, urchins and others were featured in an impromptu animal care demonstration as the animals were added to their new home.

Brian Swisher, one of ECHO’s "Environmental Exhibit Specialists", seen here completing the transfer, educated and delighted ECHO guests with information about the natural history of these species and the Lake Champlain Basin, and about good stewardship for these species in the wild and here at ECHO.
